I have to say that I'm blown away by the nice comments you leave on my blog. You rock my world!!! When I started blogging I had no idea I would meet such nice and generous people nor that I would find myself part of a community. I am so thankful for all of you that take the time to read my ramblings and leave comments.
My Thursday morning routine is usually dropping off the boys at preschool and heading to Barnes and Noble. I'm not a big fan of big box retailers but no one thinks that selling books is a profitable business in my neck of the woods. Anyway, I get a Latte (brand new addiction) and browse the books and magazines (very old addiction). In fact very old because my parents mentioned during their visit that I used to hid under the table and eat newspaper! Yikes...Sorry about the little digression ;o)
I love discovering new magazines and books but this time I was on a mission. My magazine subscriptions were all up for renewal and I wanted to check if there wasn't anything else I might want to read. For the past couple of years I've been a faithful subscriber to Time Magazine, Real Simple. Other titles come and go but these two remain. But lately I've found myself annoyed by the amount of advertising in my Real Simple issues.
I totally get it, they need the ad money to make a living. I just think that once there are more ad pages than real content pages I need to move on.
So here's what caught my eye this time.
:: Mother Jones. I've been picking up a copy so regularly that it's about time I get a subscription.
:: Shambala Sun. A gem if you have any interest in Buddhism, meditation and mindful living.
:: Monocle. A brief on the world events, business, design and cultural events. A real piece of art.
:: Three by three illustration annual. A magazine devoted to contemporary illustration, eye candy.
And my absolute favorite of the day was SEW Hip!.They had an article about crafty bloggers that got published and among them was my friend Rashida , Amy Karol, Jane Brocket and Alicia Paulson. Yippee for bloggers! And best of all they have full size pattern pull outs and plenty of projects to keep me busy for a while.
So I've decided that in 2010, I will be subscribing to Mother Jones, Time Magazine, Shambala Sun and Living Crafts. I've been drooling over Living Crafts for a while now and I've read so many good hings about it that I will take the plunge.
And for those of you who've been reading just to get to the giveaway part ;0)
